Places to stay Banaue
Compared to Sagada which is another quiet tourist spot in Northern Luzon, Banaue's accommodations is simpler and not much as a good value. The selling point from the restaurant to the rooms is the view of the Ifugao Rice Terraces. Peak season is from Mid-December up to the first week of January which is the Christmas and New Year season as well as the Holy Week season. Accommodation prices usually go up during the peak season so better book in advance. Most lodges with shared bathrooms also don't provide hot water and you can buy it per bucket.
People's Lodge and Restaurant - Located right in the center of the town where most of the foreign tourists are gathered. The rooms here are quite for a typical backpacker; basic but still clean enough for you to stay at. A room with a shared bathroom costs 200php per person while a room with a private bathroom start from a rate of 500php which is already reasonably-priced. There's also a restaurant located on the ground floor.
Uyami's Green View Lodge - Also located in the center of the town and probably the most popular lodge in Banaue is Uyami's Green View Lodge. The rooms here are nice, simple and clean with shiny floors and you can also choose from their different types of room. A double room with a queen size bed and a private bath costs 900php while a twin room with a private bath and own veranda overlooking the rice terraces costs 1,500php a night. There's also a quadruple room, family room and super family room all with private baths with hot and cold shower. If you're going alone, there's also a common room available and costs 250php per person per night. There's also a function room and a restaurant within the lodge.
Sanafe Lodge and Restaurant - With a sleepy town like Banaue, it is unexpected to find a lodge with good interior design like Sanafe Lodge and Restaurant. Aside from having the best-looking restaurant in town, this lodge also has cozy and clean rooms which is divided into six types. Their deluxe rooms have queen-sized beds, private toilet and bath with hot and cold shower and a small balcony where guests can enjoy a relaxing view of the mountains. They also have a dormitory type room which is good for 15-20 persons and advisable for big group with limited budget. Their dormitory have a private toilet and bath but without hot shower.
Banaue Hotel and Youth Hostel - A large hotel located within the center, consisting of 81 rooms and is government-owned and operated. Do not be put off by the ugly exterior because the interior of the hotel makes up for it with its spacious lobby, lots of wooden furnishings and a big fireplace. Rooms are quite spacious, have a private toilet and bath with hot and cold shower and a balcony which provides a scenic view of the rice terraces. Located on the same grounds is Banaue Youth Hostel which provides dormitory types of accommodation and is popular among groups of students who are on a budget. Other hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant.
Banaue View Inn - Although not exactly located in the center, Banaue View Inn is just right above the main road and a short walk away from restaurants, markets and internet cafes. This Inn only has 11 rooms and is family owned and operated. Set on a cliff overlooking the town of Banaue, this inn has a beautiful garden with its own greenhouse that is full of orchids. Room amenities are very minimal with only a bed, private toilet and bath with hot and cold shower plus a balcony with a great view of the terraces.
