Getting there Puerto Galera

Coming from Manila, the only way you can get to Puerto Galera is by land-sea route as there are no flights from Manila to Puerto Galera. Lots of bus companies located along Buendia in Pasay City like Tritran, BBL, Greenstar, RRCG, BLTB and Jam have buses that go directly to Batangas City Pier. To make sure you are getting on the right bus, ask the bus driver or the conductor first if its headed to Batangas Pier as there are buses as well that heads straight to the Batangas Bus Terminal. Travel time is usually 2 hours from Manila but can take up to 3 hours if traffic is bad.

After reaching Batangas Pier, you can purchase tickets for a ferry. There are numerous ferries going to Puerto Galera with different entry points namely: White Beach, Muelle, Balatero and Sabang Beach. A one-way ferry trip usually costs 200-250php depending on the ferry line and the route. The crossing usually takes an hour to Sabang and 30 minutes extra to White Beach.

For a more convenient land-sea route travel from Manila, another option available is by taking the Sikat Bus and Ferry Package ( There is only one trip daily and the bus departs at 8:30am from Citystate Tower in Ermita, Manila. They also have their own outrigger boat to take you to your destination in Puerto Galera. This option maybe lesser hassle but is definitely more expensive than planning your own trip. 

If you are traveling by a private car, a secured parking area is available for rental at the Batangas Pier. You can just park your car there and get a ferry ticket depending on your Puerto Galera entry point. Another option is bringing your car in a roll-on roll-off ferry which is otherwise known as RO-RO. Currently, there is only one ferry line that is operating directly from Batangas Pier 2 to Balatero Pier in Puerto Galera and that is Montenegro Shipping Lines ( It has 2 trip schedules daily, leaving Batangas Pier at 7:00am and 12:00nn while it departs from Puerto Galera at 10:00am and 4:00pm respectively. Be there as early as possible as they do not accept reservations and the ferry can only accommodate a maximum of up to 10 vehicles. RORO Ticket costs around 1400php up depending on the vehicle and a fare of 204php per passenger.
